Repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous. The light does not illuminate when the appliance is turned on. Possible fault Solution Is the lighting turned off? - See "Settings - Lighting". If not, the lighting is defective. Contact Miele. The display remains dark. Possible fault Solution The unit has no power. - The main switch is turned off. - The machine is not plugged in. - Check that the fuse had not blown or is defective. If the fuse has blown contact Miele's Technical Service Department. The unit suddenly turns off. Possible fault Solution - Is the machine programmed to switch off after a programmed time? - There could be pebbles within the coffee beans. The unit shuts off after 20 secs. to avoid damage. - Is the machine plugged in? - The machine goes into standby mode when not used for a programmed time. See "Settings Timer - Switching off after". - Call Miele's Technical Service Department. - Plug in the machine. The light turns off suddenly.
