Frequently asked questions The majority of malfunctions and faults that occur during the daily routine can be put right without contacting the Service Department. The following guide will assist you to identify a malfunction or fault and rectify it yourself. If, having followed the suggestions below, you still cannot resolve the problem, please contact Miele Technical Service. To prevent unnecessary loss of temperature, it is advisable not to open the doors while waiting for the appliance to be serviced.  Unauthorized installation, maintenance and repairs can cause considerable danger for the user. Installation, maintenance and repairs must only be carried out by a Miele authorized technician. Problem The appliance is not getting cold and the interior lighting does not come on when the refrigerator doors or freezer drawers are opened. The compressor is switching on more frequently and for longer periods of time, so the temperature in the appliance is dropping. Possible cause and solution The appliance has not been switched on.  Switch the appliance on. The plug is not properly plugged into the electrical outlet.  Insert the plug into the electrical socket. Check whether the fuse has tripped. There could be a fault with the appliance, the household electrical wiring or another electrical appliance.  Contact a qualified electrician or Miele Technical Service for assistance. The temperature setting is too low.  Correct the temperature setting. A large amount of food is being frozen at once.  See "Freezing and storing food". The SuperCool function is still switched on.  To save energy, you can turn SuperCool off your- self. The SuperFreeze function is still switched on.  You can turn off the Automatic SuperCool function earlier to save energy. 61
