en Important note for Miele vacuum cleaner model S 5980 / S 5981 ^ Connect the CarClean Set Plus suction hose as described above. ^ Switch the vacuum cleaner on using the On/Off foot control s. Maintenance and care ,Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for cleaning or maintenance work on the hand-held Turbobrush. Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug. ^ Press the Reset button. The vacuum cleaner will switch on. It can only be used at maximum power. Hose tidy The hose clip e can be used for hanging the hose up (illustration n). It is supplied with screws and rawl plugs for securing it to a wall. Using the hand-held Turbobrush o The hand-held Turbobrush is suitable for vacuuming car seats and carpets. It can also be used in the home for stairs and other areas inaccessible with a standard Turbobrush. Removing threads and hairs (illustration p) ^ Cut any threads or hairs that have become entangled on the brush roller with a pair of scissors. Then run the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the bits. For more obstinate tangles or blockages inside the hand-held Turbobrush, the cover can be opened. Any large particles inside it can then be easily removed. ^ Turn the grip so that the release button is in the middle of the guide (illustration q - a). ^ Press the release button (illustration q - b), and pull the grip out from the hand-held Turbobrush as far as possible (illustration q - c). ^ Lift the upper part of the casing as far as it will go (iIlustration r), and remove any debris from the inside of the casing and from the brush roller. ^ Close the casing, and push the grip back into position until it clicks into place over the release button. 13

Maintenance and care

vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the
