non-text entry mode Ä symbol mode tap method This is the standard method for entering text on your phone. Regular Tap method cycles through the letters and numbers of the key you press. The Tap Extended method cycles through letters, numbers, and symbols. 1 Press a key one or more times to select a letter, number, or symbol. 2 Repeat the step above to enter all characters. Tip: Press S right or # to insert a space. In a text entry screen you can press * to switch entry modes.
