Appendices Cleaning the Filter The air-filter sponge keeps dust and dirt from getting inside the projector and should be frequently cleaned. If the filter is dirty or clogged, your projector may overheat. The message for filter cleaning will be displayed for one minute when the projector is turned on or off. CAUTION: • Turn off the projector, and unplug the projector before replacing the filter. • Only clean the outside of the filter cover with a vacuum cleaner. • Do not attempt to operate the projector without the filter cover. Keep out dust and dirt during filter replacement. • Do not wash the filter with water. Water will damage the filter membrane. • Reattach the filter cover correctly. Failure to do so may cause projector malfunc- tion. Replacing Procedure: 1. Disconnect the power cord. 2. Pull the filter out. 3. Replace the filter. 4. Install the new filter by reversing the previous steps. 5 After replacing the filter, turn on the power, and press the [MENU] button -> OPTIONS | Lamp Settings -> Clear Filter Usage Hours to reset the filter usage hours. Refer to page 52.

Cleaning the Filter

the projector and should be frequently cleaned. If the filter is
dirty or clogged, your projector may overheat.
The message for filter
cleaning will be dis-
played for one minute
when the projector is
turned on or off.
To cancel the message,
press any button on
the projector cabinet
or the remote control.
