Heart Rate 65% Program The program calculates a heart rate goal of 65% of your maximum heart rate from your age and other information in your user profile. You can push the QUICK START key to use the calculated heart rate and the default time period, and start the workout. Or you can push ENTER/RESET to adjust your workout: 1. Use the ▲ and ▼ keys to adjust the TARGET BPM value. Then push the QUICK START key to start the workout, or push ENTER/RESET to continue program setup. 2. Body Mass Index (BMI) Program Body Mass Index (BMI) is a tool that uses the ratio of height and weight to estimate the percentage of body fat and associated health risk. You must have a User Profile set up with your user data values for the BMI program to calculate valid results for you. Go to the Program Selection menu and find your User profile. Note: To set up a User profile, go to a USER option and refer to the User Setup section of this manual. After you set your User selection, go to the BMI program and push ENTER/RESET. The program calculates your BMI value. This table gives a general rating and BMI score: Underweight Normal Overweight Obesity BMI Below 18.5 18.5 - 24.9 25.0 - 29.9 30.0 and above Note: The program may overestimate body fat in athletes and others who have a muscular build. It may also underestimate body fat in older persons and others who have lost muscle mass. 30
