FS728TP Smart Switch FS728TP Smart Switch Software Administration Manual - SHA Password - Users are authenticated using the HMAC-SHA-96 authentication level. The user must enter a password. - None - No user authentication is used. • Password (1-32 Characters) - Enter the password for the group member. • Authentication Key - Enter the HMAC-MD5-96 or HMAC-SHA-96 authentication level. The authentication and privacy keys are entered to define the authentication key. If only authentication is required, 16 bytes are defined. If both privacy and authentication are required, 32 bytes are defined. Each byte in hexadecimal character strings is two hexadecimal digits. Each byte can be separated by a period or a colon. • Privacy Key - Enter the privacy key (LSB). If only authentication is required, 20 bytes are defined. If both privacy and authentication are required, 36 bytes are defined. Each byte in hexadecimal character strings is two hexadecimal digits. Each byte can be separated by a period or colon. 2. Select the user entry. 3. Enter the User Name in the provided field in the first row. 4. Select the Group Name and Engine ID from the lists in the provided fields in the first row. 5. Select the Authentication method from the list in the provided field in the first row. 6. If you selected a password method of Authentication, enter the Password in the provided field in the first row. If you selected a key method of Authentication, enter the Authentication Key and Privacy Key in the provided fields in the first row. 7. Click Apply to update the device. To add a new SNMPv3 user: 1. Click System > SNMP > SNMPv3 > Users Configuration. The SNMPv3 User Configuration screen displays. 2. Enter the User Name in the provided field in the first row. 3. Select the Group Name and Engine ID from the lists in the provided fields in the first row. 4. Select the Authentication method from the list in the provided field in the first row. 5. If you selected a password method of Authentication, enter the Password in the provided field in the first row. If you selected a key method of Authentication, enter the Authentication Key and Privacy Key in the provided fields in the first row. 6. Click Add to update the device.
