Smudges appear in photographs: Clean front and rear lens elements. If problem persists, perform image sensor cleaning (0 445). Colors are unnatural: • Adjust white balance to match light source (0 148). • Adjust Set Picture Control settings (0 170). Can not measure white balance: Subject is too dark or too bright (0 161). Image can not be selected as source for preset manual white balance: Image was not created with D810 (0 167). White balance bracketing unavailable: • NEF (RAW) or NEF+JPEG image quality option selected for image quality (0 79). • Multiple exposure mode is in effect (0 209). Effects of Picture Control differ from image to image: A (auto) is selected for sharpening, clarity, contrast, or saturation. For consistent results over a series of photographs, choose another setting (0 175). Metering can not be changed: Autoexposure lock is in effect (0 129). Exposure compensation can not be used: Choose exposure mode e, f, or g (0 116, 132). Sound is not recorded with movies: Microphone off is selected for Movie settings > Microphone sensitivity (0 62). 463
