• BATTERY INFORMATION Note: The phone has a lithium ion (Li-Ion) battery. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations (for example, recycling). Do not dispose as household waste. This section provides information about the phone's battery. Be aware that the information in this section is subject to change. The tables shown in this section provide information about the battery that is available for your phone, charging times with the Standard Travel Charger (ACP-7U), the talk and standby times. Consult your service provider for more information. Charging Times Charging times for the BLC-2 Li-ion Battery (1000 mA) are approximate: Battery option BLC-2 Li-ion ACP-7U 3 hrs 50 min Standby and Talk Times Mode Digital Analog Talk time Up to 3 hrs Up to 1 hr. Standby time Up to 12 days Up to 1 day Note: Battery talk and standby times are estimates only and depend on signal strength, network conditions, features used, battery age and condition (including the effect of charging habits), temperatures to which battery is exposed, use in digital mode, and many other factors. Please note that the amount of time a phone is used for calls will affect its standby time. Likewise, the amount of time that the phone is turned on and in standby mode will affect its talk time. Charging and Discharging Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. Note that a new battery's full performance is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles! The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times but it will eventually wear out. When the operating time (talk-time and standby time) is noticeably shorter than normal, it is time to buy a new battery. Use only batteries approved by Nokia and recharge your battery only with the chargers approved by the manufacturer. Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use. Do not leave the battery connected to a charger. Overcharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time. Temperature extremes can affect the ability of your battery to charge. Battery will not charge at temperatures above 140°F (60°C). [ 82 ]
