■ Smileys (Menu 2-6) This function allows you to edit the smiley characters such as ":-)" that you can use when writing or replying to a message. Scroll to the desired smiley and press (Read). Press (Options) and select Edit. The smiley can be any sequence of characters. For editing, see Writing and sending a text message (Menu 2-1) on page 58. ■ Message settings (Menu 2-7) The phone offers two kinds of message settings: settings specific to each settings group or 'set', and settings common to all text messages. Set 1 (Menu 2-7-1) 1 A set is a collection of settings needed for sending text and picture messages. You can, for example, send a text message as a fax, if supported by your service provider, by simply selecting the set in which you have earlier defined the proper settings for fax transmissions. Each set has its own submenu where you can change the settings described below. Message centre number Stores the phone number of the message centre used for sending text and picture messages. Set 1 (Menu 2-7-1)

A set is a collection of settings needed for sending text and picture messages.
You can, for example, send a text message as a fax, if supported by your service
provider, by simply selecting the set in which you have earlier defined the proper
settings for fax transmissions.
Each set has its own submenu where you can change the settings described
below.
Message centre number
Stores the phone number of the message centre used for sending text and picture
messages. You obtain this number from your service provider.
