Reducing picture noise (NOISE REDUCTION) When shooting in dark places, shutter speeds become slower as there is less light focused on the CCD. During long exposures, signals are generated by parts of the CCD where no light is focused and are recorded on the picture as noise. When [NOISE REDUCTION] is set to [ON], the camera automatically reduces this noise to produce clearer pictures. ON OFF Noise is reduced. Shooting time takes Noise is not reduced. Reducing picture noise (NOISE REDUCTION)
When shooting in dark places, shutter speeds become slower as there is

generated by parts of the CCD where no light is focused and are recorded
on the picture as noise. When [NOISE REDUCTION] is set to [ON], the
camera automatically reduces this noise to produce clearer pictures.
