Using remote controller You can operate the z-connected Onkyo CD player, cassette tape deck or DVD player with the remote controller provided with the TX-DS494. The illustration shows the RC-443S remote controller. Controlling an Onkyo CD player The z connector of the Onkyo compact disc player must be connected to the TX-DS494 (refer to page 11). 1. Press the CD MODE button. 2. Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn on the Onkyo compact disc player. 3. Press the desired operation button. s : Starts playback of CD. e : Stops playback, fast forward or fast reverse. f : Fast forwards the CD. d : Fast reverses the CD. 2/8 : Lets playback pause temporarily. w : Skips to the beginning of the next track. q : Skips to the beginning of the current or previous track. DISC : This button is valid when the CD changer is used and selects the disc to be played. Press the TAPE MODE button. 2. Press the desired operation button. s : Plays side A (the side facing the front) of tape. e : Stops playback, recording, fast forward or rewinding. f : Fast forwards the tape. d : Rewinds the tape. 2/8 : Plays side B (the side facing the rear) of the tape. w : Fast forwards the tape till the beginning of the next music. q : Rewinds the tape till the beginning of the current or previous music. The

connector of the Onkyo compact disc player must be

Press the CD MODE button.
2. Press the STANDBY/ON button to turn on the
Onkyo compact disc player.

Press the desired operation button.

: Starts playback of CD.
