Using AirPlay The on-screen information appears only on a TV that is connected to HDMI outputs. The AV receiver allows wireless playback of any iOSbased device or iTunes music library using Apple Inc.'s AirPlay. Note • To use AirPlay, you will need either of the following equipment: - iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or greater. - A personal computer with iTunes 10 (or greater) installed. Network Setup 1 Connect the AV receiver to your router with an Ethernet cable. For details, see "Network/USB Features". 2 Turn on the AV receiver. Tip • If you want to connect the AV receiver wirelessly, you need to purchase the Onkyo UWF-1 wireless adapter. Playing Contents via AirPlay Follow the procedure below to play back. 1 Turn on the AV receiver. 2 Press NET. The message "Successfully connected to ethernet" appears on the AV receiver's display and the NET indicator lights. If it flashes, check the network connection. 3 From the AirPlay icon of iTunes or on your iPad/iPhone/iPod touch, select the AV receiver. Before operating on iTunes or on your iPad/iPhone/iPod touch, make sure that the NET indicator is on. 4 Select a song to play back. Tip • The volume level of the AV receiver and that of iTunes/iPad/iPhone/iPod touch are linked together. • Even when the AV receiver is in standby mode, it can be turned on by the AirPlay playback (Wake Up On AirPlay). To enable this function, set the "Network Standby" setting to "On". Doing so will slightly increase the power consumption of the AV receiver in standby mode. • When the AirPlay playback starts, the input selector is automatically switched to "NET". • If you change the input source during playback, the AirPlay connection will be lost. • Depending on the version of your iTunes or iOS software, the above-described operation may vary. • For detailed information on iTunes, see the Help section of iTunes. Troubleshooting ■ No sound can be heard during AirPlay playback Click the AirPlay icon to disconnect iTunes or your - iPad/iPhone/iPod touch, then reconnect it. Using AirPlay
The AV receiver allows wireless playback of any iOS-
based device or iTunes music library using Apple Inc.’s
AirPlay.
Note
To use AirPlay, you will need either of the following equipment:
– iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or greater.
– A personal computer with iTunes 10 (or greater) installed.
Network Setup
Tip
If you want to connect the AV receiver wirelessly, you need to
purchase the Onkyo UWF-1 wireless adapter.
Playing Contents via AirPlay
Follow the procedure below to play back.
No sound can be heard during AirPlay playback
AirPlay, the AirPlay logo, iPad, iPhone, iPod, iPod classic,
iPod nano, iPod shuffle, and iPod touch are trademarks of Apple
Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

Troubleshooting
