Using Your Kettle's Keep Warm Feature (Model 5965 only) This kettle incorporates a keep-warm function, which maintains the water at a pre-determined temperature after the boiling cycle. The Keep Warm feature is ideal for family breakfasts, commercial breaks and cooking. • The Keep Warm function can be switched on before, during or after boiling. The Keep Warm feature can also be turned off at any time if no longer required. 1. Operate the kettle following the instructions contained in the "Using Your Electric Kettle" section. After filling the kettle and replacing it onto the power base, boil water, then press the Keep Warm button. The Keep Warm button will illuminate when turned on. 2. When activated, the Keep Warm function will maintain the water temperature at approximately 70˚C after boiling. The Keep Warm feature will not boil the water. 3. To turn the Keep Warm feature off, simply press the Keep Warm On/ Off button again. The light in the button will turn off, showing that the feature is no longer operating. NOTE: Never allow the kettle to boil dry or drop below the minimum mark. With the kettle filled to the maximum level (1.5 litres) the kettle can be left with the Keep Warm function on for up to 12 hours. IF THE KETTLE DOES BOIL DRY If the kettle is operated in accordance with instructions for use, it is unlikely that the kettle will boil dry. However, in the event that the kettle does boil dry, it is protected by a boil dry, fail-safe device which will switch the kettle off automatically on sensing a boil dry situation and keep it switched off until the kettle is refilled with at least the minimum amount of water. Always allow the kettle to cool for half an hour before reuse if the kettle has boiled dry. If the kettle boils dry when the Keep Warm feature is activated, the kettle body will remain warm until switched off and allowed to cool. 6

1. Operate the kettle following the instructions contained in the “Using
Your Electric Kettle” section. After filling the kettle and replacing it
