Troubleshooting (Advanced) 94 • Right-click the on the notification area, and click [On] in [Manual Switching]. z In the Setup Utility, is [CD/DVD Drive Power] set to [Off]? (Î page 75) If this is set to off, unless Windows is running, it is not possible to turn on the drive. Disc playback and writing is not possible z Make sure the inserted disc is a compatible media type. For more about compatible media types, see "Disk Information" (Î page 38). z You may need to clean the lens or disc. • Cleaning the disc Î page 35 z Check whether the disc is distorted, damaged, or dirty. z When inserting a disc, follow the procedure below. Make sure the disc is inserted securely. A Slide the drive power/open switch, and open the disc cover. B Slide the disc into the drive under the keyboard with the label side up. C Press firmly on the center of the disc until you hear it click into place. To use B's CLiP z Install B's CLiP. You will need the serial number to install (⇒"Troubleshooting (Basic)/Error Code/Message" "Reinstalling B's Recorder/B's CLiP" in the Operating Instructions). A Click (Start) and input "c:\util\bha\clip", and press Enter. B Right-click [setup] in [clip] folder and click [Run as Administrator]. If there are two or more "setup" files, right-click the file whose [Type] is [Application]. z Follow the on-screen instructions. When a disc is inserted, it is not played automatically z Remove the disc and reinsert it. • If an AutoPlay CD does not start after the computer resumes from the sleep or hibernation, remove the disc from the drive, then reinsert the disc again after a 15 second wait. z Follow the procedure below. A Click (Start) - [Control Panel] - [Play CDs or other media automatically] B Click right [ ] of the item you want to automatically play and choose the action to play. C Click [Save]. If the problem persists, refer to the disc's operating instructions or other sources to play the disc.

Disc playback and writing is not possible
Make sure the inserted disc is a compatible media type. For more about compatible media types, see “Disk Information”

).
You may need to clean the lens or disc.
Cleaning the disc

Check whether the disc is distorted, damaged, or dirty.
When inserting a disc, follow the procedure below. Make sure the disc is inserted securely.
A
Slide the drive power/open switch, and open the disc cover.
B
Slide the disc into the drive under the keyboard with the label side up.
C
Press firmly on the center of the disc until you hear it click into place.
To use B’s CLiP
Install B’s CLiP. You will need the serial number to install (
“Troubleshooting (Basic)/Error Code/Message” “Reinstalling
B’s Recorder/B’s CLiP” in the
Operating Instructions
).
