Troubleshooting Display The "E" blinks on the display Status before error Check points Pressurization to above 300 mmH was performed. (Re-pressurization was performed several times.) Pressure decreased suddenly and "E" appeared in the display. Check whether measurements are being taken correctly and whether the user is assuming the correct posture. Make sure the unit is on the palm side of the wrist. (See pages 9 and 10.) The measurement process was performed until 20 mmH was reached and then "E" appeared in the display. Pressurization to above 180 mmH was not performed. Check whether the pressure cuff is attached to your wrist correctly. Make sure the unit is on the palm side of the wrist. (See pages 9 and 10.) 17 Symptom The systolic pressure value or diastolic pressure value is high. The systolic pressure value or diastolic pressure value is low. The measured values differ significantly. Possible cause • The hand with the cuff was held too low and not at heart level. (See page 10.) • The cuff was not attached properly. (See page 9.) • You moved your hand or body or you spoke during measurement. (See page 10.) • The hand with the cuff was held too high and not at heart level. (See page 10.) • You moved your hand or body or you spoke during measurement. (See page 10.) • Your posture was not the same for all measurements, or measurements were taken without sufficient time in between. Always wait approximately 5 minutes before taking another reading, and above all, relax. The measured value differs from that measured by the doctor. The measured value is different for each measurement. • Blood pressure varies in response to minute changes in your mental state, such as your reaction to your doctor taking the measurement. One way to check this is to bring the unit to your doctor's office and directly compare the readings taken by your physician. • Relax for at least 5 minutes and then take another measurement. The measured value obtained is different from that measured at the upper arm. • For persons with certain circulation problems, there may be substantial differences in blood pressure values measured at the upper arm versus at the wrist. If the device still appears to provide unusual or erroneous readings, consult your physician. If the device does not appear to be functioning properly, contact Panasonic at 1-800-338-0552. 18
