Useful Information Troubleshooting General use Problem The unit does not work. The line indicators do not work properly. The unit does not ring. You cannot hear a dial tone. Date and time on the display flashes. You cannot dial. The battery is discharged. How do I return to standby mode quickly? Cause/solution L Check the connections (page 14, 15, 16, 17). L Unplug the AC adaptor to reset the unit. Reconnect the adaptor and try again. L Check the connections (page 14, 15, 16, 17). L The ringer is set to "Off". Turn it on (see "Turning ringer on/off " on page 26). L The Do Not Disturb (DND) feature is turned on. Turn it off (see "Turning Do Not Disturb (DND) on/off" on page 27). L If there are several non-system phones on the line that do not ring, disconnect some of them. Having too many phones connected can also result in low ringer volumes on non-system phones. L Check the connections (see "Connecting the handset and AC adaptor" on page 14). L Confirm the telephone line cord is properly connected (page 15, 16, 17). L Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone service provider. L Set the date and time (see "Date and time" on page 24). L Check whether the dialing mode selection is correct (see "Dialing mode" on page 24). L Please remove the battery when you cut the power supply, as the battery will discharge automatically once the power is cut according to the time shown on page 12.
