The indentation between the FLASH button and the REDIAL button is the microphone. Along the sides of the cordless handset are two indentations, which are parallel to the small ridge below the earpiece, that secure the belt clip. The belt clip is a T-shaped plastic piece with two curved arms and one long arm. The belt clip snaps into place with the small ridges on the curved arms locking into each of the indentations on the side of the cordless handset. Further down the left side of the cordless handset, to the upper left of the TALK button, is the headset jack covered with a little round rubber cap. This cap can be opened from front to back, and is not removable. The 2 metal ridges at the bottom of the sides of the cordless handset are the charge contacts. The battery compartment is on the back of the cordless handset (behind the keypad). Its upper edge is parallel to the TALK button and the OFF button. The battery door can be opened by inserting a flat metal object in the slot on the bottom of the cordless handset and pushing forward to release the lock.
