Registering a handset to the base unit The supplied handset and base unit are pre-registered. If for some reason the handset is not registered to the base unit, re-register the handset. 1 Handset: {MENU} 2 {V}/{^}: "Initial setting" i {OK} 3 {V}/{^}: "Registration" i {OK} 4 {V}/{^}: "HS registration" i {OK} 5 Base unit: ■ KX-TG4011 series: page 3 Press and hold {LOCATOR} for about 5 seconds. (No registration tone) ■ KX-TG4021/KX-TG4071 series: page 3 Press and hold {LOCATOR} for about 5 seconds until the registration tone sounds. L If all registered handsets start ringing, press the same button to stop. Then repeat this step. L The next step must be completed within 90 seconds. Programming 6 Handset: Press {OK}, then wait until a long beep sounds. Note: L While registering, "Base in registering mode" is displayed on all registered handsets. L When you purchase an additional handset, refer to the additional handset's installation manual for registration. Deregistering a handset A handset can cancel its own registration (or the registration of another handset) that is stored to the base unit.
