With a PC ª Installing USB Driver ≥For Windows XP users, the USB equipment operates with the driver installed as standard on your OS. ≥For Windows 2000 users, download the USB driver if you have Internet access. 1 Download the USB driver from: http://www.panasonic.com/ consumerdownloads ≥The operation icon blinks on instead of appearing from the side of the screen when you press the center of the joystick. 3 Connect the Camcorder to a personal computer with a USB cable (not supplied). ≥When the Camcorder and the personal computer (with Windows 2000) are connected via a USB cable, a message, such as the one below, is displayed. However, testing by the manufacturer has confirmed the functionality of this Camcorder with Windows 2000. Click [Yes] and proceed. 2 Click [Camcorders]. 3 Click [USB Driver (for Web Camera)] to download the USB driver. 4 Decompress the downloaded data. 5 Double click the icon. ≥The setup program starts running. 6 Complete the installation by following the on-screen instructions. ≥Click [Next] and proceed with the installation. ≥When the installation is completed, click [Finish]. 7 Re-start the computer after the USB Driver is installed. ª Connecting the Camcorder to a personal computer (For Use as a Web Camera) 1 Install the USB Driver. 2 Set to Tape Recording Mode or Tape Playback mode. When you use the Camcorder as a Web camera in the Tape Playback Mode, the indication of the operation icon is different from the one in usual operation. 4 Start Windows Messenger (for Windows XP users), MSN Messenger (for Windows 2000/ XP users) or Windows Live Messenger (for Windows XP users). ≥Click [start] >> [Programs] >> [Windows Messenger], [MSN Messenger] or [Windows Live Messenger]. ≥You may not be able to communicate with the other parties via the network if they are not using the same Messenger application (software) as you are. Installing USB Driver
For Windows XP users, the USB equipment
operates with the driver installed as standard on
your OS.
For Windows 2000 users, download the USB
driver if you have Internet access.

Download the USB driver from:

Click [Camcorders].

Click [USB Driver (for Web Camera)] to
download the USB driver.

Decompress the downloaded data.

Double click the
icon.
The setup program starts running.

Complete the installation by following the
on-screen instructions.
Click [Next] and proceed with the installation.
When the installation is completed, click
[Finish].

Re-start the computer after the USB Driver
