You can reduce the power consumed in standby mode by turning it off. During standby mode Press and hold [L STOP, -DEMO] until "NO DEMO" is displayed. The display changes each time the button is held down. NO DEMO (off) ↔ DEMO ON (on) To show a demonstration of the display Press and hold [L STOP, -DEMO] until "DEMO ON" is displayed. Note • You cannot turn demo function off when the unit is on. • You cannot turn demo function on when dimmer (A page 22) is on. 2•4 -AUTO OFF B Auto-off function Remote control only When CD or tape is selected as the source To save power, the unit turns off if it is left unused for ten minutes. This function does not work if the source is tuner, AUX or DIGITAL input. Press and hold [-AUTO OFF]. "AUTO OFF" is displayed. The setting is maintained even if the unit is turned off. If you select tuner, AUX or DIGITAL input as the source, "AUTO OFF" goes out. It comes on again when you select CD or tape. To cancel Press and hold [-AUTO OFF] again. C Setting the time Remote control only This is a 12-hour display clock. This example in the figure shows how to set the time for 4:25 p.m.. 1 Switch on the power. 2 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select "CLOCK". Every time you press the button: CLOCK PLAY REC Previous display 3 (within 7 seconds or so) Press [g/REW/3] or [4/FF/f] to set the present time. 4 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to finish setting the time. The time is set and the original display is restored. Displaying the clock Press [CLOCK/TIMER] once when the unit is on or at standby mode.
