Configuration Utility The CD supplied with PocketJet 3 and PocketJet 3Plus printers contains a configuration utility, a printer setup program, that allows the user to modify storable configuration options for the printer. Changes to the default configuration options are in most cases relevant only where the host computer will be sending simple text data and it does not have a Pentax-supplied driver. This utility provides access to printer features through a Windowsbased program. The settings can only be made in a Windows environment but will be stored on the printer for use in both nonWindows and Windows applications. Controllable Printer Features For Windows systems, Mac OSX, and PDA Systems (for systems with the driver provided on the Pentax CD): ƒ Auto- On ƒ Auto-Off ƒ Pre-Feed For Bluetooth Printers: ƒ PIN Code Setting For Serial Printers: ƒ Baud Rate Setting ƒ Parity Setting ƒ Flow Control Setting For Text Mode* Printers: ƒ All Features * Text mode is selected automatically by the printer when only characters in the built-in character set are sent to the printer. Otherwise, the printer stays in raster mode (See "A Note about Text Mode," page 25). Installing the Configuration Program: When using the CD Installation program to install drivers for Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98, and 95, the Configuration Program's SETUP utility will be launched at the same time automatically. You must follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. To install the Configuration Program independently on a Windows host, browse the CD into the :\\Config folder, and then double-click the PJ3ConfigSETUP.EXE (or PJ3plusConfigSETUP.EXE), and follow the onscreen instructions.
