• Bear in mind that with the Remote Control Shooting mode, the shutter can be released at a distance closer than 65cm (2.lft) in wide 38mm, 85cm (2.8ft) in tele 115mm when the Remote Control Shutter release button is depressed. Operating Distance of the Wireless Remote Control From the camera'sfront: within approx.5mstraight in front of the camera • Remote Control may not work in a backlit situation. In this case, use the camera's shutter release button in the Self-Timer mode to take pictures. • Remote control does not work while the built-in flash is being charged. Zooming using the Remote Control When the Remote Control Transmitter is aimed towards the camera's Remote Control Receiver, each time you depress the zooming button located on the Remote Control, the lens zooms and stops at steps of 115, 65, and 38mm focal length settings continuously. • Before using the Remote Control to zoom the lens, frame the subject through the viewfinder, using the 115mm telephoto setting. Otherwise, the subject may be out of the picture area when the lens is zoomed. Battery life on the Remote Control About 30,000 commands can be issued using the Remote Control with a battery installed. Have exhausted battery replaced at your local Pentax Service center if the battery is exhausted (there is a charge for this service). 31
