Taking Pictures 4, 5 1, 2 3 B Taking Underwater Pictures (Underwater Mode) This camera has a waterproof capability equivalent to JIS Class 8 4 protection (IPX8) and can be used to take pictures at a depth of 1.5 m continuously for 30 minutes. Use the Underwater mode to take underwater pictures that capture the blueness of the sea. 1 Press the four-way controller (3) in A mode. The Capture Mode Palette appears. 2 Use the four-way controller (2345) to select B (Underwater). 3 Press the 4 button. The Underwater mode is selected and the camera returns to capture status. 4 Press the shutter release button halfway. The focus frame turns green if the subject is in focus. 5 Press the shutter release button fully. The picture is taken. • Before taking pictures underwater, make sure that there is no dirt or sand on the waterproof packing of the battery/card cover and check that the cover is securely locked. (1p.23) • Before opening the battery/card cover after using the camera underwater, make sure that there is no water, dirt or sand on the battery/card cover or anywhere on the camera.
