D Change the settings of the channels as desired (delete unwanted channels, assign digital channels, assign input sources). Refer to "Changing the settings of a channel" section in this guide. E Change the TV settings as desired. Refer to "Configuring Volume / Picture and Other Common settings" section in this guide. For detailed explanation, refer to the user manual. F Record the TV configuration settings into a Wireless SmartLoader. Refer to the "Cloning the TV configuration to a SmartLoader and the SmartLoader configuration to the TV" section in this guide. 4 Changing the settings of a channel A Note: This section is only applicable after channels have been installed in the TV (see Section 3 on channel installation). Press the M button on the remote to display the Setup menu. Press the Cursor Down button repeatedly until CHANNEL INSTALL is highlighted. B Press the Cursor Right button to enter into the CHANNEL INSTALL menu and use the Digits 0 - 9 buttons to select a channel. Press the Cursor Down button repeatedly until DIGITAL is highlighted. Press the Cursor Right button to select YES. Set the RF CHANNEL NUMBER to the physical channel where the digital program is located and the MPEG PROGRAM NUMBER to the program desired within that physical channel. Note : You can also highlight the DIGITAL CH SCROLL item and press the Cursor Left or Right button to select the digital channel numbers. Follow the instructions for setting up TV for use as a stand alone (see section 3). At this point, all of your channels, including those you wish to use for the Smoovie TV™ are programmed and accesible. C In the Setup menu, press the Cursor Up or Down repeatedly until COMMUNICATION is highlighted. Press the Cursor Right button to enter COMMUNICATION menu. Press the Cursor Right button repeatedly until SMART RC is selected. Select STORE and press the Cursor Right button to store selection.Your TV is now installed for Smoovie TV™ functionality and the channels you have selected for restricted access are no longer accessable without a Smoovie TV™ remote. B To install the restricted Smoovie TV™ channels, press the M button on the remote (in Setup position) to display Setup menu. Press the Cursor Down button repeatedly until CURRENT RING is highlighted. Press the Cursor Right button repeatedly until RING 4 is selected for each channel that you want to enjoy Smoovie functionality. Aim SmartLoader at green LED (4 to 6 inches away from TV). B Press the MENU button on SmartLoader to display menu on TV. SMARTLOADER SMARTLOADER TO TV > TV TO SMARTLOADER MENU C To load the TV configuration into a SmartLoader, select "TV to SmartLoader" and press the Cursor Right button to start. SMARTLOADER SMARTLOADER TO TV TV TO SMARTLOADER > MENU D To load the SmartLoader configuration into the TV, select "SmartLoader to TV" and press the Cursor Right button to start. Note: In both cases, the process takes approximately 30 seconds to complete. SMARTLOADER SMARTLOADER TO TV > TV TO SMARTLOADER MENU MENU 8 Installing a Pay-Per-View SmartCard A NOTE : Step A in this section may not be needed as the Communication mode by default is set to SP - SPI. Perform this step only if you want to confirm the Communication mode is set correctly. In the SETUP menu, select COMMUNICATION. Press the Cursor Right button to enter COMMUNICATION menu. Press Cursor Right button to select SP - SPI. Press Cursor Right button and select STORE and press the Cursor Right button to store selection. Perform this step only if you want to confirm the Communication mode is set correctly. In the SETUP menu, select COMMUNICATION. Press the Cursor Right button to enter COMMUNICATION menu. Press Cursor Right button to select SP - SPI. Press Cursor Right button and select STORE and press the Cursor Right button to store selection. COMMUNICATION COMMUNICATION STORE DCM TYPE SP - SPI > > B Insert the RJ12 cable of the Pay-Per-View box to the DATA 1 (RJ12) connector on the rear of the TV and connect the other cables as directed by the Pay-Per-View provider. Sample of Pay-Per-View box Connect to the Data 1 (RJ 12) connector at the rear of the TV. C Press the RECALL button on the remote and check SP - SPI is on-line. If SP - SPI shows "OFFLINE", check the RJ12 cable and connection between terminal and TV. B If the TV still does not communicate with the external interactive terminal, press the RECALL button on the remote. Check item 08 of the menu.
