Send SMS Read SMS To send messages, you must first enter a service centre number (see page 15). If this is not stored in your SIM card, ask your operator for it. Send SMS or Reply Press , and select Messages, Send SMS and press ,. Select a name or select New to enter a new number. Press ,and select New to enter and send a new message, Standard to send a predefined message, or Melody to send a melody together with your message (other than standard, 30 characters max.) L You can only send melodies that are out of copyright. Once you selected or wrote your message, select Add icon to add an icon to your message, then select Save or Send now and press ,. Read SMS Consult the list of SMS you have saved and received. They have the following icons: Received unread Saved Received read Reset SMS settings SMS centre Signature Broadcat SMS Once you read a message, press ,to Reply, Forward to, or Delete this message. Clear SMS The whole SMS list can be cleared at once: press ,and select Messages, then Reset and press , to empty the call list. L Deleting your SMS list is useful to free memory space in order to store new messages. SMS settings This menu allows you to customise your SMS via the options described below. • SMS centre To select your default SMS centre. If not available on your SIM card, you must enter your SMS centre number. • Signature To send a signature together with your SMS (i.e., characters showing your default account number and name). This signature is transmitted at the end of your message. The length of the message is consequently reduced. You can edit the signature, modify and save it. Broadcast SMS* You can receive short messages from your network about specific topics of interest to you (eg. weather, news, sports). L *Subscription dependent.
