Dial using handset keypad. You should hear a dial tone in the headset. 4. Hang up the handset. You can now walk away with the headset on. To answer a call: Press the call control button on the headset to answer a call. To end a call: Press the call control button on the headset. NOTE: If either you or the recipient have trouble hearing, please check compatibility (page 11). CHECKING COMPATIBILITY NOTE: The compatibility setting of "1" is set at the factory to work with most phones. However, if you do not hear a dial tone, if either you or the recipient is having trouble hearing, or if you experience buzzing/hissing, please follow the directions below. 1 If you cannot hear a dial tone through your headset, use a coin or small screwdriver to turn the telephone configuration dial until you can. Make sure that a number is aligned with the position indicator. Place a call to someone you know. While speaking, turn the configuration dial through the four positions. To make a call—Option 1:
1.
Take your handset off-hook.
2.
Dial numbers using handset keypad. You should hear a dial tone in the handset.
3.
Press the call control button on the headset. The talk indicator lights on both the
base and the headset should go on, indicating a successful link.
4.
Hang up the handset. You can now walk away with the headset on.
NOTE: To use this option, make sure IntelliStand is off. See page 8.
