Before You Call For Service... Troubleshooting Tips Save time and money! Review the charts on the following pages first and you may not need to call for service. Problem Not enough or no hot water. Water not hot enough. Water too hot. Possible Cause What To Do Water Shutoff valve is not fully opened. G Check shutoff valve and open fully. Hot water faucet is not fully opened. Water piping is frozen. G Open hot water faucet completely. (The main burner goes off when incoming water volume is inadequate.) G Allow piping to thaw. No electricity or water supply is cut off. G Check that proper power is being supplied and/or water supply is adequate. Unit is not "ON". The temperature may be set too low. G Turn the unit "ON" by the button on the remote control. G Increase the temperature setting. Mixing Valve Malfunctions (if applicable) Error code displayed on remote control. G Check and replace if necessary. G See instructions for Error Code and if required, contact a dealer for service. Not enough water demand. G Increase water flow. Water inlet filter clogged. G Clean water inlet filter. Fixture aerator is clogged. Scale buildup in heat exchanger. Hot and cold water lines reversed. G Clean aerator. G Check for error code. If required, contact a dealer for service. G Reverse water connections. The temperature may be set too low. G Increase the temperature setting. The gas valve is not fully opened. G Check and open the gas valve fully. Gas supply pressure is low. Bleed over in one of the hot water fixtures. G Call your gas company to verify the gas meter and gas piping size. G Call dealer for service. Temperature is set too high. G Decrease the temperature setting. Water shutoff valve is not fully opened. G Check shutoff valve and open fully. Small amount of water has been heated. G Allow more water to flow. Fan continues to rotate after hot water This function is to supply hot water G Normal operation. There is no need faucet is closed. when the hot water faucet is reopened. to call for service. CAUTION: Make certain power to water heater is "OFF" before removing protective cover FOR ANY REASON. CAUTION: Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous operation. VERIFY PROPER OPERATION AFTER SERVICING. CAUTION: For your safety, DO NOT attempt repair of electrical wiring, gas piping, remote control, burners, vent connectors or other safety devices.
