MAINTENANCE CLEANING THE STARTER ASSEMBLY See Figure 61. Use a brush or compressed air to keep the cooling vents of the starter assembly free and clean of debris. CLEANING THE ENGINE See Figures 62 - 63. Clean the cylinder fins and flywheel fins with compressed air periodically. Dangerous overheating of the engine may occur due to impurities on the cylinder. WARNING: Never run the saw without all the parts, including the clutch cover and starter housing, securely in place. Operating the saw without all parts securely in place can result in death or serious personal injury. Because parts can fracture and pose a danger of thrown objects, leave repairs of the flywheel and clutch to factory trained qualified service center personnel. CLEAN FLYWHEEL FINS 1 STOP Fig. 61 NOTE: If you notice a power loss with the gas- powered tool, the exhaust port and muffler may be blocked with carbon deposits. These deposits 4 may need to be removed to restore performance. 3 CHECKING THE FUEL FILTER See Figure 64. Check the fuel filter periodically. Replace it if 2 LOCATION contaminated or damaged. OF CYLINDER COVER SCREWS REPLACING THE SPARK PLUG See Figure 65. This engine uses a Bosch WSR6F or Torch L7RTC spark plug with .025 in. (0,64 mm) electrode gap. Use an exact replacement and replace every 50 hours or more frequently, if necessary. NOTICE: Allow engine to cool before removing spark plug. Removing spark plug from a hot engine can cause serious damage to the chain saw. n Remove the air filter cover as described in Cleaning the Air Filter earlier in this manual. Fig. 62 n Loosen the spark plug by turning it counterclockwise with a wrench. n Remove the spark plug. n Hand thread the new spark plug, turning it clockwise. Tighten securely with wrench. CLEANING THE STARTER ASSEMBLY
See Figure 61.
Use a brush or compressed air to keep the cooling
vents of the starter assembly free and clean of
debris.
CLEANING THE ENGINE
See Figures 62 - 63.
Clean the cylinder fins and flywheel fins with com-
pressed air periodically. Dangerous overheating
of the engine may occur due to impurities on the
cylinder.
WARNING:
Never run the saw without all the parts, including
the clutch cover and starter housing, securely
in place. Operating the saw without all parts
securely in place can result in death or serious
personal injury.
Because parts can fracture and pose a danger
of thrown objects, leave repairs of the flywheel
and clutch to factory trained qualified service
center personnel.
NOTE:
If you notice a power loss with the gas-
powered tool, the exhaust port and muffler may
be blocked with carbon deposits. These deposits
may need to be removed to restore performance.
CHECKING THE FUEL FILTER
See Figure 64.
Check the fuel filter periodically. Replace it if
contaminated or damaged.
REPLACING THE SPARK PLUG
See Figure 65.
This engine uses a Bosch WSR6F or Torch L7RTC
spark plug with .025 in. (0,64 mm) electrode gap.
Use an exact replacement and replace every 50
hours or more frequently, if necessary.
NOTICE:
Allow engine to cool before removing spark
plug. Removing spark plug from a hot engine
can cause serious damage to the chain saw.
Remove the air filter cover as described in
Cleaning the Air Filter
earlier in this manual.
MAINTENANCE
Loosen the spark plug by turning it counter-
clockwise with a wrench.
Remove the spark plug.
Hand thread the new spark plug, turning it
clockwise. Tighten securely with wrench.
