ASSEMBLY UNPACKING This product requires assembly. n Carefully remove the appliance and any accessories from the box. All items listed in the Includes section must be included at the time of purchase. WARNING: Items in this Assembly section are not assembled to the product by the manufacturer and require customer installation. Any such alteration or modification is misuse and could result in a hazardous condition leading to possible serious personal injury. WET/DRY VAC ASSEMBLY See Figure 1 - 8, pages 9 - 10. The wet use filter, accessories, casters, and hose are packed inside the canister and must be installed before using the wet/dry vac. n Place the vacuum on a flat surface in the upright position. n Depress the locking latches on the side of the canister. n Remove the motor head assembly. NOTE: The dry use filter is preinstalled on the motor head. n Remove the wet use filter, flexible hose, floor nozzle, cast- ers, extension wands, storage clips, and screws from the canister. n Place the storage clips on the motor head. n Align the holes in the storage clips with the holes in the motor head. Install screws and tighten securely. n Carefully turn the canister upside down. n Slide casters into the grooves on the bottom of the canister and press down into place. n Install screws threw the holes in the casters. Tighten securely. n Make sure the casters are secure, and then return the canister to the upright position. n Align the raised tab on vacuum port to the slot on the flexible hose; slide together and tighten securely by twisting until the hose is in the locked position. Check tightness after initial use and retighten if needed. NOTICE: When correctly assembled, the hose is difficult to separate. If it can easily be twisted apart, the hose is not locked. Continue twisting together until the hose snaps into the locked position. If the hose is not in the locked position, it can separate during operation. n Connect extension wands and/or accessories as needed. Refer to Installing/Removing Attachments later in the manual. n To remove the hose, rotate the hose counterclockwise and remove from the vacuum port. To assemble the appliance for dry vacuuming: n Ensure the dry use filter is flush against the power head and turn the filter cover clockwise to make sure it is tightened securely. NOTE: The dry use filter is preinstalled on the motor head. n Place the motor head assembly inside the canister and push down into place. To assemble the appliance for wet vacuuming: n Remove the motor head assembly from the canister. n Turn the motor head assembly upside down with the dry use filter facing up. n Rotate the filter cover counterclockwise to loosen. n Remove the filter cover and dry use filter from the motor head. n Slide the wet use filter onto the motor head and pull it down until it completely covers the filter cage. n Place the motor head assembly inside the canister and push down into place. NOTE: To reassemble the appliance for dry vacuuming, remove the motor head and turn it upside down. Remove the wet use filter from the filter cage. Slide the dry use filter over the filter cage and secure in place using the filter cover. Place the motor head assembly inside the canister and push down into place. 5 - English
