Guideline • Guideline displays certain patterns on the LCD screen so that you can easily set the image composition when recording movie or photo images. • The HD camcorder provides 3 types of guidelines. Settings Off Disable the function. Contents On-screen display None Enables you to center the subject for proper recording. Enables you to place the subject within a safety zone which prevents it being cut when editing in 4:3 for left and right and 2.35:1 for top and bottom. Enables you to place the subject in the center square for proper positioning. • Positioning the subject at the cross point of the guideline makes a balanced composition. • Guidelines are not recorded on the images. Digital Zoom You can select the maximum zoom level in case you want to zoom to a level greater than 10X (the default setting) during recording. Note that the image quality decreases when you use the digital zoom. This right side of the bar shows the digital zooming factor. The zooming zone appears when you select the zooming level. Settings Off On Contents Up to 10X zoom is performed optically. Up to 10X zoom is performed optically, and after that, up to 10X zoom is performed digitally. (Zooming more than 10X is achieved digitally, up to 100X when combined with optical zoom.)
