Types of Messages Your phone is able to send and receive Text and Picture messages to compatible phones and devices. Text messages can be up to 150 characters in length. Note: Available memory is shared between all messages. You can store up to 100 messages. However, the exact number is dependent upon message length. Create and Send Text Messages 1. In standby mode, press the Up navigation key, then press @ (for Send Message) and @ for Text Message. The Create Txt Msg screen appears in the display showing the To: list. 2. Enter the phone number or e-mail address of the recipient, then press the key. The Text: appears in the display. 3. Enter the text content of your message using the keypad. See See "Entering Text" on page 44 for more information. At any point while composing a message: • Press the (left) soft key ( ) to change the text entry mode. The following text entry options appear in the display: - T9 Word - Abc - ABC - 123 - Symbols Use the Up and Down navigation keys to highlight the desired option, then press the key. • Press the Options (right) soft key ( ) to complete the message text and set message send options. The following options appear in the display: - Preset Msg - Insert pre-composed text in your message. - Save As Draft - Save the message to your Draft folder. - Save As Preset - Save the message text as a Preset Message. - Add To Contacts - Save the recipient's number or e-mail address as a Contacts list entry. - Delivery - Specify whether you want a Msg Recipt when your messages are received, the Priority of your messages (Urgent or Normal), whether to include your callback number (CB#) in your messages, whether to include your Signature in your messages. - Cancel Msg - Cancel sending this message. You are prompted to save this message in your Drafts folder. 4. Once you're finished entering your message, press the key. 70

Create and Send Text Messages
1.
In standby mode, press the Up navigation key, then press
(for
Send
Message
) and
for
Text Message
. The
Create Txt Msg
screen
appears in the display showing the
To:
list.

Enter the phone number or e-mail address of the recipient, then press the
key. The
Text:
appears in the display.

Enter the text content of your message using the keypad. See See
“Entering Text” on page 44 for more information. At any point while
composing a message:
Press the (left) soft key (
) to change the text entry mode. The following text
entry options appear in the display:
T9 Word
Abc
ABC
123
Symbols
Use the Up and Down navigation keys to highlight the desired option,
then press the
key.
Press the
Options
(right) soft key (
) to complete the message text and set
message send options. The following options appear in the display:
Preset Msg
— Insert pre-composed text in your message.
Save As Draft
— Save the message to your Draft folder.
Save As Preset
— Save the message text as a Preset Message.
Add To Contacts
— Save the recipient’s number or e-mail address as a
Contacts list entry.
Delivery
— Specify whether you want a
Msg Recipt
when your messages are
received, the
Priority
of your messages (
Urgent
or
Normal
), whether to include
your callback number (
CB#
) in your messages, whether to include your
Signature
in your messages.
Cancel Msg
— Cancel sending this message. You are prompted to save this
message in your Drafts folder.
4.
Once you’re finished entering your message, press the
