Pause Dialing From a Contacts Entry • If you speed dial a contact that contains (two-second) P pause(s) simply wait for the pauses to pass and the dialing to complete. • If you speed dial a contact that contains (hard) W pause(s), wait for the appropriate prompt(s) from the number you are calling (credit card number, bank account number, and so on) and enter the appropriate response(s). Making a Call - Quick Search Dialing Use the Quick Search feature to dial any number stored in your Contacts list by pressing the number keys that correspond to the first few letters of a Contact name. (For more information, refer to "Quick Search" on page 128) Quick Search Dialing a Contact To find and dial a Contact, do the following: 1. In Standby mode, press the number keys that correspond to the first few letters of the Contact name, as shown. 2. Press the Up navigation key. The Contacts list screen displays showing the desired Contact name. 3. If needed, use the Up and Down navigation keys to highlight the Contact to call. 4. Press to call the highlighted Contact. Making a Call - Voice Dialing Your r520 mobile phone includes state-of-the-art voice recognition software that lets you dial numbers using your voice. Using Voice Dial Use the Voice Dial command to dial any number stored in your Contacts list by saying the name of the contact (Name Dialing). You can also use Voice Dial to dial any valid telephone number, even numbers not stored in your Contacts list, by speaking the individual digits in the number (Digit Dialing). 23

Pause Dialing From a Contacts Entry
If you speed dial a contact that contains (two-second) P pause(s)

Making a Call — Quick Search Dialing
Use the
Quick Search
feature to dial
any number stored in your Contacts
list by pressing the number keys that
correspond to the first few letters of
a Contact name. (For more

“Quick Search”
on page 128)
Quick Search Dialing a Contact
To find and dial a Contact, do the
following:
1.
In Standby mode, press the number keys that correspond
to the first few letters of the Contact name, as shown.
2.
Press the Up navigation key.
The Contacts list screen
displays showing the desired
Contact name.
3.
If needed, use the Up and
Down navigation keys to
highlight the Contact to call.
4.
Press
to call the
