washing a load of laundry DETERGENT USE Your Washer is designed to use high efficiency (HE) detergents. • Using a good quality top loader detergent is recommended. • Your washer is designed to use high efficiency (HE) detergent. For best cleaning results, use a high efficiency detergent. • It is also important to: Pre-treat stains before washing. Sort clothes by color. Sort clothes by the amount of soiling. Avoid overloading. Liquid detergent CAN ONLY be added to the dispenser tray. Adding powder to this tray may cause internal clogging and result in a poor wash. Powdered detergent can be added to the wash tub, however, it is recommended that powdered detergent be mixed with warm water before adding it. Reducing the amount of detergent used may reduce the effectiveness of the cleaning action. FEATURES Automatic dispenser Your Washer has separate compartments for dispensing detergent and color-safe bleach and fabric softener. Add all laundry additives to their respective compartments before starting your Washer. The automatic dispenser MUST ALWAYS be in place before you start your Washer. DO NOT open the automatic dispenser when your washer is running. • Never exceed the manufacturer's recommendations when adding detergent. • This compartment holds liquid detergent for the main wash cycle, which is added to the load at the beginning of the cycle. To add detergent to the automatic dispenser: 1. Open the dispenser drawer. 2. Load the recommended amount of liquid detergent into the detergent compartment before you start your wash. 3. Close the drawer slowly and smoothly to avoid spilling, splashing, or premature dispensing of the contents. It is normal for a small amount of water to remain in the dispenser compartments at the end of the cycle. Do not put chlorine bleach in the dispenser drawer.
