This system electrolyzes tap water containing chloride ions to generate hypochlorous acid and hydroxyl radicals, which are two different types of active oxygen species that suppress viruses. Maintaining a high concentration of these active oxygen species in the electrolyzed filtration water effectively fights microbes.
