OPERATION DEFROSTING CHART Item Beef During Defrosting Standing Time Ground beef Liver Turn over. Remove defrosted portion. 5-10 minutes Drain Liquid. Separate pieces. 10-15 minutes Roasts Sirloin steak Turn over. Cover ends with foil. Turn over. 20-40 minutes 5-10 minutes Rib or T-bone Turn over. 10-20 minutes Flank Steak Turn over. 5-10 minutes Stewing meat Break apart. 5-10 minutes Pork Ground pork Turn over. Remove defrosted portion. 5-10 minutes Bacon Chops Defrost in original wrapper. Turn over. 3-5 minutes Separate and turn over. 5-10 minutes Ribs Roasts Turn over. Turn over. Cover end with foil. 10-20 minutes 20-40 minutes Lamb Ground lamb Turn over. Remove defrosted portion. 5-10 minutes Chops Ribs Separate. Turn over. Turn over. 5-10 minutes 10-20 minutes Roasts Poultry Turn over. Cover end with foil. 20-40 minutes Chicken, whole Turn over. Cover ends with foil. Rinse under cold water after defrosting. Pieces Separate. Turn over. 15-30 minutes 10-15 minutes Cornish hens Turn over. Cover ends with foil. Rinse under cold water after defrosting. Fish and Seafood 15-30 minutes Crabmeat, Shrimp Break apart. 5-10 minutes Fish fillets Steaks Turn over. Rearrange. Rinse under cold water to separate after defrosting.
