SHOOTING SINGLE SHOTS Using the flash The flash is not only used for photographing under dark conditions, but is also convenient for example when the subject is in shadow or lit from behind. The flash is available only when shooting single-shot still images. 1 Display the SIMPLE Mode Recording Menu (page 38), select the flash setting, and press the SET button. h The screen to select the flash operation appears. Auto Flash automatically EXIT OK 9: The camera detects the subject brightness and uses the flash only when necessary. :: The flash operates with every image captured regardless of the conditions. ;: The flash does not operate even in dark situations. 2 Select the desired flash operation, and press the SET button. h This completes the flash operation setting. 3 Press the [ ] button to take the picture. 65 English
