INTRODUCTION The MD 402 is a directional microphone with super-cardioid characteristic, especially suited for sound pick-up in acoustically unfavourable and reverberant rooms and it also effectively reduces unwanted ambient noise. It suppresses all sounds from the sides and from the rear. Its maximum sensitivity is directly on the front axis. Therefore it should be always used directly from the front. The MD 402 has remarkable recording properties. Due to its frequency response from 80 . . . 13 500 Hz it is well suited for reportage and music recordings.
