ENGLISH Extremely versatile mono condenser microphone with cardioid directional characteristic. Suitable for high-quality sound recordings and live sound transmission. Its features: • Wide frequency response • Easy connection • Sturdy • Simple battery replacement • Operating time up to 500 hours Operation A Microphone power supply Insert batteries as shown in figures A.1 - A.3 (alkali-manganese, 1.5 V, type LR 06 Mignon). Observe polarity! Perform battery test (fig. A.4). Test duration approx. 1 min. If operating display does not light up the polarity of the inserted battery is incorrect. If the illumination of the operating display is faint, the battery is weak and must be replaced. Maximum operating time with one battery: approx. 500 hours. After battery test move switch to position "On". Note: The operating display lights up only in switch position "Test". B Microphone connection See fig. B. Necessary microphone input sensitivity of recording unit: > 0.5 mV = - 66 dBV (also refer to operating instructions of recording unit). With the measuring unit dBV, smaller values e.g. - 60 dBV correspond to lower sensitivity. C Speaking into microphone • Do not speak directly into the microphone, but rather slighty above it (fig. C.1). For speaking distances < 10 cm use the pop screen MZW 43. For preferred speaking direction see fig. C.2. • Do not rub fingers on microphone housing while recording as these lowfrequency handling noises are also transmitted. • Use wind screen MZW 43 for outside recordings.
