Parent Control (V-CHIP Operation Continued) Example 2.1 : Content- Based setting For "TV-PG", "TV-14" and "TV-MA" select unblocked for each content rating but leave "AGE" blocked for "TV-PG" and "TV-14" only. Please note that with these settings, blocking does NOT occur if a program is rated only "TV-MA"; it must be rated "TV-MA-V " to be blocked. Example 3 : Reset an Age-Based setting For "TV-14", select "BLOCK" for "AGE". This will again automatically block the content ratings "D", "L", "S", "V", "FV" for "TV-MA" in addition to "TV-14". Please note that the lower age rating "TV-PG" did not change from its previous settings. Example 2.1 : Content-Based setting
For
“TV-PG”, “TV-14” and “TV-MA” select unblocked
(“– – – –”)
for each content rating but leave "AGE" blocked for “TV-PG”
and “TV-14” only.
Example 2.2 : Content-Based setting
For “TV-PG”, select "BLOCK" for only “V” (Violence).
This will automatically block the higher ratings “TV-14-V” and
“TV-MA-V”
(“TV-14” and “TV-MA” for Violence content only).
Please note that with these settings, blocking does NOT
occur if a program is rated only “TV-MA”; it must be rated
“TV-MA-V” to be blocked.
Example 3 : Reset an Age-Based setting
For “TV-14”, select “BLOCK” for "AGE".
This will again automatically block the content ratings “D”,
“L”, “S”, “V”, “FV” for “TV-MA” in addition to “TV-14”.
Please note that the lower age rating “TV-PG” did not change
from its previous settings.
