Optional Components Hooking up optional components To enhance your system, you can connect optional components. Refer to the operating instructions provided with each component. +/1 A HS s HS lj JL i From the audio output jacks of an optional analog component Optional analog component To the digital input jack of an optional digital component Optional digital component A ANALOG IN jack Use audio cord (not supplied) to connect an optional analog component (MiniDisc player/ recorder or Portable Audio player, etc.) to this jack. You can then record or listen to the sound from the component through this system. B CD DIGITAL OUT jack Use a digital optical cord (square, not supplied) to connect an amplifier, MiniDisc player/ recorder or DAT deck with a digital optical input jack. Sound is then output when the system function is set to CD. If the jack is covered with a cap, remove it before use. Notes • There is no digital audio output from this jack during playback of ATRAC3plus/MP3 tracks. • You cannot make a digital recording of a copy guarded disc using a digital component connected to this system. Also, playback may not be possible depending on the connected component. • Before connecting or disconnecting the audio cord (not supplied), press VOLUME - repeatedly (or turn the VOLUME control on the unit counterclockwise) to turn down the volume. 28GB

ANALOG IN jack
Use audio cord (not supplied) to connect an
optional analog component (MiniDisc player/
recorder or Portable Audio player, etc.) to this
jack. You can then record or listen to the sound
from the component through this system.
