DCR-TRV350 Digital Handycam® Camcorder The DCR-TRV350 is backward compatible with previously recorded 8mm or Hi8™ tapes. In addition, it can be used as a digital still camera with MPEG Movie EX recording capability; you can also record video in no light using Super NightShot infrared system or using Color Slow Shutter record video in low light situations. Digital8® Video Recording Digital8 recording format delivers 3x the color bandwidth of VHS with significantly less video noise providing stunning video performance. Digital8 records digital audio and video comparable to MiniDV on affordable Hi8™ tapes and is backwards compatible with existing 8mm and Hi8 analog recorded tapes. ➤Backwards Compatibility Playback an existing library of 8mm and Hi8 analog recorded videotapes. 20X Optical/700X Digital Zoom The optical zoom helps to bring the action up close from far away. In addition, the digital zoom interpolation means that extreme digital zooming is clearer, with less distortion than previous types of digital zooms. 2.5" SwivelScreen™ LCD Display (123K Pixels) Provides excellent viewing clarity with improved resolution. The 123K pixel LCD rotates up to 270-degrees for multiple viewing angles providing sharp detailed images for monitoring or playback. USB Streaming Stay connected with family and friends by broadcasting live video with audio, via the Internet with the USB interface. You can even playback your favorite recorded scene stored on tape. It's like having your own web camera or video conferencing system. ➤Digital Still Memory Mode Capable Digital Still Memory Mode captures high quality still images at 640 x 480 resolution directly to Memory Stick® media (optional). Images are stored in a JPEG format providing easy transfer to PCs for emailing, printing, or sharing with family and friends. ➤MPEG Movie EX Mode Unlike earlier MPEG1 Movies, MPEG Movie EX will allow you to record uninterrupted to the capacity of the Memory Stick media. For example a 128MB Memory Stick media will record up to 85 minutes of non-stop MPEG1 videos. Manual Focus Allows the user to adjust the camera's focus, allowing more creativity and/or effects. Manual focusing also allows the user to control the camera's focus in difficult situations. i.LINK®* DV Interface (IEEE1394) A high-speed bi-directional digital video/audio communication between two devices equipped with an IEEE1394 interface, including camcorders, digital VCRs, and PCs. ➤Analog-to-Digital Conversion with Pass-Through Convert and/or record any analog NTSC video source to digital video via the analog inputs. Analog NTSC video can also be passed-through the Digital Handycam camcorder directly into a PC via the i.LINK interface in real time for easy PC editing of your analog footage. Built-In Light (3 Watt) Brightens your videos when shooting in low light situations. SteadyShot® Picture Stabilization System Picture stabilization system that uses motion sensors to compensate for camera "shake" without compromising picture quality like some other digital stabilization systems. ➤Super NightShot Infrared System and Color Slow Shutter With Sony's NightShot®infrared system, capture video in total darkness (0 lux) up to 10 feet away. Super NightShot mode automatically adjusts the shutter speed to increase picture brightness and clarity. Color Slow Shutter mode allows you to record in low light situations with full color detail by slowing down the shutter speed. ➤Playback Zoom During video playback, pause mode, or while viewing still images stored on Memory Stick® media, you can zoom in up to 5X closer. These newly cropped images can be stored on Memory Stick media. Battery Information Battery information is momentarily displayed without having to power on the camcorder. Quickly access the battery's status by pressing the Battery Info button. The Recording Time Available is displayed in minutes, on either the LCD screen or viewfinder. InfoLithium® Battery with AccuPower™ Meter System Charge the battery at any time because unlike NiCad (Nickel Cadmium) batteries Sony's rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries are not subjected to a life shortening "memory effect".
