Help Guide Digital 4K Video Camera Recorder FDR-AX43/AX45/AX60 TC/UB (Time code/User bit) You can record the time code (TC) and user bit (UB) as the data attached to images. What is the time code? Time code is the function that assists advanced image editing by recording hours/minutes/seconds/ frames on image data through the time that progresses while recording. What is the user bit? You can record any information such as the date/time/scene number (8 digits hexadecimal number) as the user bit. The user bit is useful when editing a movie from images recorded by multiple cameras. 1 - [Setup] - [ TC/UB] - desired setting. Descriptions of menu items TC/UB Disp: Sets the display for the counter, time code, and user bit. TC Preset: Sets the time code. UB Preset: Sets the user bit. TC Format: (1080 60i-compatible device only) Sets the recording method for the time code. TC Run: Sets the count up format for the time code. TC Make: Sets the recording format for the time code on the recording medium. UB Time Rec: Sets whether or not to record the time as a user bit. To set the time code (TC Preset) - [Setup] - [ TC/UB] - [TC Preset] - desired value. You can set the time code within the following range. When the frame rate is 30p or 60p (1080 60i-compatible device): 00:00:00:00 - 23:59:59:29 When the frame rate is 25p or 50p (1080 50i-compatible device): 00:00:00:00 - 23:59:59:24 When the frame rate is 24p, you can set the last 2 digits of the time code between 0 and 23 in multiples of 4. To reset the time code - [Setup] - [ TC/UB] - [TC Preset] - [RESET]. You can also reset the time code (00:00:00:00) by selecting [Setup] - [ General Settings] - [Initialize], or by using the remote commander RMT-VP1K (sold separately). To set the user bit (UB Preset) - [Setup] - [ TC/UB] - [UB Preset] - desired value. You can set the user bit within the following range. 00 00 00 00 - FF FF FF FF 220
