Record the serial number in the space provided below. Refer to them whenever you call upon your Sony dealer regarding this product. Several special packets are initiated by the MAC. These are the only ways the digital baseband portion will turn on the RF transmitter, which it then turns off at the end of the packet. Therefore, the transmitter will be on only while one of the aforementioned packets is being transmitted. In other words, this device automatically discontinue transmission in case of either absence of information to transmit or operational failure. Frequency Tolerance: 20 ppm 5.15 - 5.25 GHz band is restricted to indoor operations only. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. Precautions On placement ˎˎPlace the player in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat build-up in the player. ˎˎDo not place the player on a soft surface such as a rug that might block the ventilation holes. ˎˎDo not place the player in a location near heat sources, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, or mechanical shock. ˎˎDo not place the player outdoors, in vehicles, on ships, or on other vessels. ˎˎIf the player is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may form on the outer surface and on interior of the player. Should this occur, the player may not operate properly. In this case, leave the player turned on for about half an hour until the moisture evaporates. ˎˎDo not install the player in an inclined position. It is designed to be operated in a horizontal position only. ˎˎDo not place heavy or unstable objects on the player. ˎˎDisconnect the AC power cord and all other cables from the player when you move the player. ˎˎKeep the player away from equipment with strong magnets, such as microwave ovens, or large loudspeakers. ˎˎDo not place metal objects in front or on the both sides of the player. It may limit reception of radio waves. ˎˎDo not place the player in a place where medical equipment is in use. It may cause a malfunction of medical instruments. ˎˎIf you use a pacemaker or other medical device, consult your physician or the manufacturer of your medical device before using the wireless LAN function. About the hard disk drive The hard disk has a high storage density, which enables quick access to the written data. However, it can easily be damaged by shock, vibration or dust, and should be kept away from magnets. To avoid losing important data, observe the following precautions. ˎˎDo not apply a strong shock to the player. ˎˎDo not place the player in a location subject to mechanical vibrations or in an unstable location. ˎˎDo not place the player on top of a hot surface, such as a VCR or amplifier (receiver). ˎˎDo not use the player in a place subject to extreme changes in temperature (temperature gradient less than 10 °C/hour). ˎˎDo not move the player with its AC power cord connected. ˎˎDo not disconnect the AC power cord while the power is on. ˎˎDo not move the player for one minute after you have unplugged the AC power cord. ˎˎDo not attempt to replace or upgrade the hard disk by yourself, as this may result in malfunction. If the hard disk drive should malfunction, you cannot recover lost data. The hard disk drive is only a temporary storage space. About repairing the hard disk drive ˎˎThe contents of the hard disk drive may be checked in case of repair or inspection during a malfunction or modification. However, the contents will not be backed up or saved by Sony. ˎˎIf the hard disk needs to be formatted or replaced, it will be done at the discretion of Sony. All contents of the hard disk drive will be erased, including contents that violate copyright laws. On power sources ˎˎFollow the procedure below when disconnecting the AC power cord.  Disconnect the LAN cable or pause the download by using the 4K application setting in the "Application" items of the player home menu.  Wait for about five minutes after turning the player off.  Make sure that the hard disk drive is not operating (the power indicator and HDD indicator are off).  Disconnect the AC power cord. ˎˎDisconnect the player from the wall outlet if you are not going to use the player for a long time. To disconnect the AC power cord, grasp the plug itself; never pull the cord. ˎˎObserve following points to prevent the AC power cord being damaged. Do not use the AC power cord if it is damaged, as doing so may result in an electric shock or fire. ēēDo not pinch the AC power cord between the player and wall, shelf, etc. ēēDo not put anything heavy on the AC power cord or pull on the AC power cord itself.
