Basic Operations Playing back a tape Using a Remote Commander You can operate your VCR using the Remote Commander supplied with a Sony product. Set COMMANDER in the menu settings, according to the remote control code of the Sony product. Wide mode playback and recording Pictures recorded with a Sony digital video camera that have an aspect ratio of 16:9 on your VCR can be played back. For details, refer to the operating instructions of your TV. Black bands appear on the LCD screen during playback in 16:9 WIDE mode [a]. The picture during playback on a normal TV [b] or a wide-screen TV [c] are compressed in the widthwise direction. If you set screen mode of the 16:9 wide-screen TV to the full mode, you can see normal images [d].
