Choosing a Screen Size The guidelines for choosing a TV screen size are not set in stone. Much will depend on the amount of space you have for a television, the size of your room and particularly the viewing distance. But the "right" screen size also depends on your preference. If most of what you watch is movies on DVD and if you want to be immersed in the full cinematic experience, you may be better off with a larger screen than the one recommended here. With these qualifications in mind, we present screen size calculators for three classes of television.
