Additional Information Troubleshooting If, after reading the following instructions, you have additional questions related to the use of your Sony TV, please call one of the following numbers. If there is a problem with your TV, the STANDBY/ SLEEP indicator on the front panel will flash in orange repeatedly. Writing down the duration of flashes and interval between flashes helps you inform qualified Sony personnel of the TV's condition. STANDBY/SLEEP indicator (flashing in orange) 1 Measure how long the STANDBY/SLEEP indicator flashes and stops flashing. For example, the indicator flashes for 2 seconds, stops flashing for 1 second, and flashes for 2 seconds. 2 Press POWER on the TV to turn it off, and disconnect the AC power adaptor and cord, then inform qualified Sony personnel or the Direct Response Center/Customer Relations Center of how the indicator flashes (duration and interval). Trouble symptoms and remedies Problem No picture. Cannot receive any channels. Cannot receive upper channels (UHF) when using an antenna. TV is locked to one channel. Cannot receive any channels when using cable TV. Cannot receive or select channels. The TV turns off automatically. (The TV enters the standby mode.) Possible remedies • Make sure the power cord is connected securely. • Turn on the power of the TV. • Check antenna/cable connections. • Check your HD Mode setting (page 8). Select "HD Mode: 1080" when you receive a picture consisting of 1080 horizontal lines with interlaced scanning, and select "HD Mode: 1035" when you receive a picture consisting of 1035 horizontal lines with interlaced scanning. For normal use of the TV, use "HD Mode: 1080" (factory setting). • Set "Cable" to "Off" in the (Channel) menu (page 20). • Perform Auto Program to add receivable channels that are not presently in the TV's memory (page 20). • Perform Auto Program to add receivable channels that are not presently in the TV's memory (page 20). • Check your Channel Fix setting (page 21). • Perform Auto Program to add receivable channels that are not presently in the TV's memory (page 20). • Make sure "Cable" in the (Channel) menu is set to "On" (page 20). • Perform Auto Program to add receivable channels that are not presently in the TV's memory (page 20). • This TV automatically changes to the standby mode after displaying the message "TV will turn off soon" if it receives no broadcast or input signal through the connected equipment for 10 minutes. • Check that the Sleep timer is activated (page 50). Self-diagnosis function
The TV is equipped with a self-diagnosis function. If
there is a problem with your TV, the STANDBY/
