The following checks will assist in the correction of most problems which you may encounter with your unit. Should any problem persist after you have made these checks, consult your nearest Sony service facility. When bringing in your unit for repair work, make sure you bring in the whole system (changer, commander, and the tuner if connected.) Before going through the check list below, first refer back to the connection and operating procedures. CD player section ,TROUBLE Play does not begin. The operation buttons do not work. The sound is skipped due to vibration. The programmed selection is not played during memory program play. CAUSE (AND REMEDY) The unit is in the pause mode. -.Press oil. 'The built-in microprocessor malfunctions. -.Press the Reset button. •The commander is not firmly connected. •The changer is installed at an angle of more than 15° from the horizontal. •The unit is not installed on the sturdy part of car. • Dusty or defective disc. •The disc is not in a particular slot. -.Insert the disc in the slot and program the selection again. Tuner section (when the XT-20 FM/AM tuner unit is connected to the unit.) Preset tuning is not possible. •The correct frequency is not memorized. •The signal is weak. -Tune in manually. Automatic tuning is not possible. 'The signal is weak. -Tune in manually. The ST indicator flickers. •The station is not tuned in precisely. •The signal is weak. -*Press the SENS button twice. 23
