Plug the DVD-VCR power cord into an AC outlet. Display pictures on the TV 1 Press / to turn on the DVD- VCR and turn on your TV. 2 Switch the TV input using the TV's remote (usually INPUT or TV/VIDEO) so that the signal from the DVD-VCR appears on the TV screen. Clock set The "Clock Set" setup allows you to make clock settings for the recorder. 1 Press SET UP, then press / to select OPTION and press ENTER. If the remote does not seem to function, you may be operating your TV, not the DVD-VCR. Set the TV/DVD-VIDEO switch on the remote. Also, some buttons work only for the DVD player or the VCR. Be aware of the one you are controlling: check the "DVD" or "VIDEO" indicator in the display window and select by pressing SELECT DVD or SELECT VIDEO. Select DVD or VIDEO Which do you want to use? For operating the DVD player Press SELECT DVD. "DVD" is lit in the display window. For operating the VCR Press SELECT VIDEO. "VIDEO" is lit in the display window. Record a TV program from the connected device 1 Press SELECT VIDEO to control the VCR. 2 Insert a tape with its safety tab in place. 5 Press SP/EP to select the tape speed, SP (Standard Play) or EP (Extended Play). 3 Press INPUT SELECT to select a input source. 6 Press REC. 4 Select a channel on your cable box or satellite receiver. Keep the channel you want to record set on your cable box or satellite receiver, and leave it turned on. To stop recording Press STOP. Record a TV program form the connected device using the timer 1 Press SELECT VIDEO to control the VCR. 2 Insert a tape with its safety tab in place. 3 Press TIMER. L1/L2 --------- START END DATE SPEED --------- RETURN 4 Set L1 or L2, start and stop times, date, and tape speed. Press / to select each item, and / to set it. 5 Select a channel on your cable box or satellite receiver. 6 Press to confirm the setting. The indicator appears in the display window and the VCR stands by for recording. Timer recording will operate properly regardless if the DVD-VCR is turned on or off. 8 Keep the channel you want to record set on your cable box or satellite receiver, and leave it turned on. To cancel the setting Press CLEAR in STEP 4. hint Why is the indicator flashing in the display window? The indicator flashes when a timer setting is set with no tape to record on. Insert a tape with its safety tab in place.
