Step 2: Install the Sony Changer Software CD The Sony® Changer Software CD contains a software program that when installed, works with Microsoft® Windows® Media Center in Windows Vista™ Home Premium, or Ultimate to control the Changer/Recorder. Note: The following installation procedure must be initiated from the host computer. Important Installation Note Before beginning the software CD installation process, go to Windows Update and make sure you have installed the latest critical updates for the host computer. You should also visit your computer manufacturer's Web site to ensure that your system supports Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium, or Ultimate. We recommend to update any drivers or firmware that your manufacturer has distributed to ensure compatibility. The first part of the installation process is a series of checks to see if the host computer contains the operating system software required to properly run the VGP-XL1B Changer/Recorder. During this process, if a required system software component is outdated or not found, you will be directed to install the missing operating system software before continuing. After all required programs are verified or installed, you will be presented with a series of basic installations screens. Please read each screen carefully, then take the appropriate action. To install the Sony Changer/Recorder Software CD 1 From the host computer, insert the software CD into the optical drive. 2 Normally, the installation starts automatically. If it does not, from the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, and then click Run. In the text box, type: x:\setup.exe (where x is the drive letter of your optical drive) and click OK.
